We’re here to help.

Breaking into a career.

Surgprep is associated with the American Board of Surgical Assistants, a certifying agency that qualifies our graduates (after successfully passing a two hour exam) to apply for a Surgical Assistant license. The application for a license is then sent through your local government licensing agency.

A modern approach

We work attentively with every student to make sure that their schedules fit the program, accommodating most students. Our courses are flexible enough to fit most student schedules, including three to twenty day courses.

3 day course: A sampler, to see if a career in medicine and surgery are for you.

5 day course : Get the experience and log surgical procedures to qualify for the Royal Academy of Surgical Assisting course, with the eventual goal of obtaining a surgical assistant license.

20 day course : Create logs of surgical cases to sit for the ABSA exam and obtain a license as a surgical assistant. Our course has helped many medical school students and medical school graduates that did not match for a residency for whatever reasons, but need a job in surgery while waiting for the next match a year later. After completing our course and obtaining a surgical assistance license, the student is able to obtain a job at a surgical center or hospital. Exposure like this may open doors that lead to a surgical residency.

Our current offerings:

All of our courses take place within the Chicagoland area. All courses provide our specialized cadaver lab, which includes the highest quality specimens available, all freshly frozen without the use of formaldehyde. The cadaver work is performed in a real operating room. This allows the students to become more comfortable to the operating room settings. See or video under the services tab to see the quality of the cadavers.

All of our courses, regardless of experience, also include clinical and operating room experience. If you are interested in our courses, you should be prepared to be seeing and working on patients in the clinic alongside a board certified surgeon, and scrubbing into actual surgical procedures.

Pricing can vary depending on your education level and experience, so please fill out our consultation forms if you’d like to set up an event with us.
