SurgPrep is a personalized, internationally recognized medical training program, designed by board-certified surgeons and physicians for the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Work shoulder-to-shoulder alongside board certified surgeons in a specialty of your choice, learning skills that will propel your career in healthcare into the future.

Students will scrub into surgeries and assist in a unique, one-on-one teaching experience with the surgeon. Gone are the days of rubber suture training kits, or practicing knots on the skins of fruits- pick up real instruments, and put the skills you learn with us to use on real human skin.

SurgPrep also offers specialized cadaver labs, and simulation operating rooms designed to create utmost familiarity with your future working environment.

  • Dr. Darwin Nelson

    A Captain in the United States Air Force and medical school graduate who decided to pursue his license as a surgical assistant. Having already taken previous medical training programs across the United States, Darwin had felt that SurgPrep was the only program which provided one-to-one personalized care, and while also setting the stage for advanced training which he utilized while performing research.

    Already a doctor in chiropractic medicine, Dr. Garavito utilizes his surgical assistant license as a way to build a deeper insight into his patients and provide the surgeon with a thorough background of the patient’s treatment history during physical therapy.

  • Dr. Jesus Morao

    A foreign medical doctor from Venezuela, Dr. Marao uses his surgical assistant license to utilize his vast medical experience in the operating room. While he puts his experience to good use, the license also allows him to study for the USMLE and obtain his domestic medical license.

  • Monica Najera, R.N.

    Monica worked as a nurse while at her orthopedic group in Chicago, before she attended SurgPrep and obtained her license. Now, she works side by side with her surgeons as their surgical assistant, where she can both gather new knowledge and provide insight gained from her time on the ICU.

    While attending a local community college in pursuit of his Associate’s degree, John was able to qualify for the ABSA’s surgical assistant exam under the aid of SurgPrep. After becoming the youngest surgical assistant in the nation, he then went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree and ultimately become one of the instructors at SurgPrep.

    A foreign M.D., Volodimir sought a way to continue to practice medicine, and utilize his skills in the operating room while living in America. Through SurgPrep, Volodomir was able to train under our team of board certified surgeons and obtain his license as a surgical assistant.
